Santa Cruz Health Information Organization (SCHIO) Chooses Verato to Expand Services and Improve Patient Data

Established in 1996, SCHIO is one of the nation’s oldest and most advanced health information exchanges, connecting more than 100 healthcare organizations across the region, including primary care and specialist groups , hospitals, clinics, mental health and addictions providers, and more. . As the organization continued to expand its services to more effectively serve the Santa Cruz community, it sought a master patient index solution that would not only help provide organizations and patients with more accurate data, improve the interoperability and data sharing across the healthcare ecosystem and would enable sharing of information on social determinants of health (SDH).

This more robust patient record will not only improve care in organizations in the Santa Cruz area, but will also generate more accurate data that can be easily shared with patients and healthcare organizations, to further improve the interoperability.
